Hospital-acquired infections are a significant burden on healthcare systems. These infections can cause severe bodily harm, drive health care costs up, and even result in death of the patient. Fortunately, these infections can be prevented by tactfully implementing infection prevention and control practices that ensure safety by reducing the risk of the potential spread of disease.
In efforts to reduce the burden of infections and the spread of related disease at hospitals, Northwest General Hospital conducted a two-day advance training session on Infection Prevention & Control in collaboration with Partners Consultants International, an international accreditation consultancy firm delivering the full spectrum of related services within the healthcare environment in Pakistan & Middle East. The training aimed to educate all healthcare personnel on implementing infection control programs in surveillance, isolation, outbreak management, environmental hygiene, employee health, education, and infections prevention policies and management.
