Northwest General Hospital commemorated World Breastfeeding Week on August 9, 2023, organised by the Food and Human Nutrition Department, NWGH. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtiar, Director of Clinical Affairs & Administration along with healthcare team members, PR representatives, and interns, led an awareness walk, focusing on the theme “Let breastfeeding and work, work!” as advocated by the WHO.
The event highlighted the importance of creating a supportive environment for breastfeeding mothers in the workplace, allowing them to balance both childcare and work responsibilities. Interns from the Food and Human Nutrition Department presented educational posters covering various aspects of breastfeeding.
The nutrition department displayed nutrient-checked food options, underlining the hospital’s commitment to well-balanced meals. The event attracted consultants and staff members who engaged with informative charts and stalls to gain insights into breastfeeding.
