Northwest General Hospital & Research Centre has a very busy Radiology Department, operating round the clock with consultants available on-call for emergencies at night and on weekends. The Department is fully digitized, utilizing in-house developed software that allows consultants to store radiological images and report on them from any location. With a multitude of diagnostic modalities available, specialists are equipped to report on all modalities. Consistently upgraded with the latest state-of-the-art equipment, the department ensures the highest standards of care.

We offer cutting-edge diagnostic imaging services to both internal and external patients. Our state-of-the-art facilities include the Siemens 1.5 Tesla MRI Scanner, set in a beautifully designed space to ensure patient comfort and provide top-tier imaging quality. For claustrophobic patients, we also offer an open MRI machine. Additionally, our services encompass digital X-ray imaging and advanced ultrasound machines equipped with color Doppler and elastography for highly specific diagnoses. Our CT scanner identifies even the smallest structures with minimal radiation exposure, and our mammography services are provided in a low-stress environment, offering both screening and diagnostic mammograms. The DEXA scan, considered the gold standard for diagnosing osteoporosis, measures bone mineral density with precision. Our digital fluoroscopy provides real-time moving images of internal structures, enhancing diagnostic accuracy. We also utilize a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for efficient online reporting.

The department also offers services in Interventional Radiology, with an interventional radiologist performing and reporting on various procedures. This comprehensive approach ensures that we meet the diverse needs of our patients with the highest level of care and technological advancement.
