NWIHS Celebrates Pathology International Week

Northwest Institute of Health Sciences (NWIHS) celebrated Pathology International Week, a global initiative to recognize the vital contributions of pathology and laboratory professionals in healthcare. The celebration had two primary objectives: to raise awareness about the crucial services provided by pathology and laboratory technologists and technicians in diagnosing and managing diseases and to acknowledge and appreciate the dedication and expertise of pathology and laboratory professionals in improving healthcare outcomes.

The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Mr. Malik Abdul Latif Awan, CEO, who served as the event’s chief guest. Other notable guests included Mr. Arshad Pervaiz, Head of the Pathology Department at Northwest School of Medicine (NWSM); Dr. Aamir Ali Khan, Director of Khyber Medical University and a pioneer faculty member of NWIHS; Ms. Aleema, Senior Scientific Officer; Mr. Javed Zaman, Main Lab Incharge; and Heads of Departments from NWIHS.

Students of NWIHS actively participated in the celebration by creating innovative models showcasing different academic and laboratory perspectives. The models were supervised by Dr. Muhammad Ilyas and other faculty members. The models were a testament to the student’s creativity and understanding of pathology and laboratory concepts.

A panel of experts, comprising Dr. Aamir Ali Khan, Miss Aleema, and Mr. Javed Zaman, evaluated the models and selected the top three winners. The panel’s expertise and feedback provided valuable insights to the students, and their participation was greatly appreciated.

The event concluded with the distribution of cash prizes among the top three student models. The prizes were a recognition of the student’s hard work and dedication to creating innovative and informative models.
