World Continence Week is observed from the 20th – the 26th of June to raise awareness and break stigmas associated with incontinence in men. This global initiative highlights conditions related to bladder, bowel issues, chronic pelvic pain, and other debilitating conditions that impact a patient’s life and career.
In the light of the World Continence Week, Dr. Mian Naushed Ali Kakakhel, Consultant Urologist at Northwest General Hospital, emphasises adopting healthy lifestyle habits as early as possible to avoid incontinence in older age. Maintaining a healthy weight and avoiding tobacco and other drugs can help with incontinence.
