Food shortage and hunger are severe global concerns often overlooked by self-sufficient economies. It is primarily a result of the excess of food and resource in one region leading to scarcity and deprivation in other areas. Almost 811 million people are food-deprived worldwide, most of which involve African countries.
In light of World Hunger Day, Ms. Tehreem Ayaz, Health Safety & Environment Officer, NWGH, emphasises the scarcity of resources and our practices, making the existing resources insufficient. Climate change is also one of the reasons for food shortage, apart from food wastage.
